Dr. Cédric Tuyau (Ced) is a Lecturer in Civil Law at the University of Seychelles and the Open University of Mauritius. Prior to entering academia, he worked as a legal professional with experience in international contract drafting.
Dr. Tuyau holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B (Hons)), a Master of Laws (LL.M) in International Business Law from Middlesex University, and a Doctor of Laws (LL.D) from the University of South Africa. His academic work focuses primarily on civil law and commercial law, drawing on experience within both civil law and common law jurisdictions. He is fluent in English and French.
He has been recognised for his contributions to hybrid and technology-enhanced legal education and, in 2022, became the youngest Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in the United Kingdom. He has contributed to the development of hybrid learning courses in higher education and recently completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education (PGDipED).
Dr. Tuyau is an advocate of hybrid and online legal education, promoting teaching approaches that integrate traditional classroom instruction with digital learning environments in order to enhance flexibility and student engagement.
Alongside his academic work, he has pursued theological studies. He was previously a student at the International Dominican University and is currently a seminarian at the University of Lorraine (CAEPR).
