Students who are interested in supervision are welcome to contact me by email at ced@lawlecturer.com with a brief outline of their proposed research topic. This outline should indicate the general area of law to be explored and the central research question or issue the student wishes to examine.
To facilitate an initial discussion, students are encouraged to include the following information in their email:
The proposed research topic or title
The general area of law involved
A short description of the research question or problem to be examined
The programme and university in which the dissertation or research project forms part
If you are a student at the University of Seychelles or the Open University of Mauritius, a formal request for supervision should normally be made through your Head of Department or Programme Coordinator.
Students from other universities should ensure that supervision requests are made through the relevant academic department or programme administration, in line with the institutional procedures governing dissertation supervision (onus is on the student).
Following initial contact, it may be possible to arrange a meeting to discuss the feasibility, scope, and direction of the proposed research project. This discussion allows the research topic to be refined and ensures that the proposed project is appropriate for dissertation or independent research work.
Supervision is subject to availability and existing academic commitments. In order to ensure effective academic guidance and meaningful engagement with each research project, the number of students supervised is limited for each programme.
